These 18th century chairs actually sit rather well.May people automatically think that all Chinese chairs are uncomfortable.Also,there seems to be a misconception,that Chinese chairs can't be used or they are structurally unsound.This is not the case with these chairs.They are strong and can be used.The size is 23x17x39 high.The seat is 21 high.They are made from very dense elm wood and are from Shanxi in northern China.Some other notable features include:turned spindles under the arms,pipe joints,original black finish,an ogival shaped cut out on the back splat,beaded moulding detailed in red and a wonderful scalloped opening between the legs.The matting on the seat has been replaced
