Item 19011/1040 Red Lacquer Storage Box

1736 to 1795... Qianlong... This red lacquer (cinnabar) box is very rare. The size is 34 x 22 x 22 High.The front plates and handles are original. Originally, the entire box was covered with paintings. Whether they were similar to the painting on the side is unknown. This is one of the finest examples of a early box that we have seen. Another example of a similar style can be seen in the recent book called Pure Form.
