Item CA13565/738 Kang D Shaped Table SOLD

This table is shown in the cleaned but unrestored condition (above left). Partially restored image is above right. The carved concave apron with its horse’s belly form has an ornament in the cusp of each section, although the apron on the left has been damaged. The graceful cabriole legs terminate at the foot with a leaf like form curled tightly upward around a ball. The feet are attached to a stretcher. Traces of the original dark lacquer remain. Elm wood (Yu mu); circa 1800 or earlier, China
